It is no secret that kelly oxford is my girl crush. Here is yet another reason why. I see mothers holding back and hiding themselves every day just because a ” mom wouldn’t do / say that”. I agree we should use common sense and perhaps do some editing when it comes to speaking to or being around ANY children. But why can’t we be ourselves AND a sensitive mother? Just like tv and magazines give us body images to idolize and dream of (unrealistically) but they do that with mother images too. TV shows have come a long way (remember Donna read or the dick van dike shows?) but it is still very much a pressure! I’ll stop here and let Kelly continue.
